Day 16: Amazing Grace Series - #4 Amazing Gift

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created un Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV

We all have that one favorite gift of all time that we received from our loved ones. For me, the greatest gift I have received was when they surprised me with a grand birthday celebration when I turned 18. I only expected a simple one, with all my loved ones present and regardless of the grand – when I say grand, I think of 18 roses, 18 candles, 18 gifts, etc. – celebration, I’ll always be grateful to God for making me reach 18 years. But by His grace at work within the people around me, He made my birthday more memorable and so far, the best.

The grace given to me is the same grace that is given to you. When Jesus paid the price on the cross, we are already saved by grace through faith. We no longer have to work hard to achieve grace because it is freely given to us by God – an amazing gift of grace. God has given grace to everyone, including those who deserve and don’t deserve it. Since we have been having His grace, we are able to do things that please Him. And when I say pleasing things, these are the things away from sin.

Because we have obtained grace from Him, we are enabled to do good works – works that will show His power in our lives. We are healed and forgiven; all the chains of the enemy are gone now. Our broken hearts are now whole because of Him. He showed the way of the light as He holds us.

We cannot do any work of God without His grace. Grace helps us understand His words, His vast love, and His promises. When we are called to do a thing that involves faith, God prepares the situation in advance so that we will be able to complete the work given to us.

From this day forward, may you always feel His grace in every situation you are in, and may His presence and love embrace you as you walk every day with Him. After all, we really need Him in our lives for us to be whole.

    Have a blessed day!
