Day 1: First Love

We love because He first loved us.

1 John 4:19 NIV

    God gave us free will to make decisions who and what we will love. Love is the reason why we are drawn so close to God, and it's the same reason we can be far from Him.

    The love of God was freely given to us when He gave His Only Son to pay for our sins. Imagine how amazing that is! Jesus paid the price for our transgressions and we can now have eternal life because of that. Every blood that fell from His body is for you, for me and for everyone, telling us that we have to worry no more because He had already won the victory. Jesus has risen and He is alive!

    May God's love remind you every day that you are not alone. You have the capacity to love other people and that should start with loving yourself first. Always remember that when you wake up each day, God's hand is placed in your heart, feeling every beat of it as He say, "You are Mine and I love you."

    Now close your eyes for a minute and imagine the warm embrace of our Lord. Say "I am loved by God and I am His" repeatedly until the words sink in.
